Celebrating the Assyrian New Year

On Sunday 27 March 2022, we attended the celebrations of the Assyrian New Year (6772) at Fairfield Showgrounds.

It was a magnificent display of culture, art and pride for one of our oldest migrant communities, with one of the most ancient histories of any group.

We started the day at 10am passing out flyers and speaking to community leaders, and throughout the day as the festival grew, we enjoyed spreading our message to the mums, dads and young Assyrians of Western Sydney.

I was joined later in the day by Victor Kah-Xu Tey (candidate for Werriwa) and Peter Runge (candidate for Fowler). The great John Ruddick (lead Senate Candidate) also came along for the fun.

Aside from spreading the LDP message of freedom, we also had an excellent time meeting our colleagues from the United Australia Party.

It was a fantastic day out, and one we were all glad to share with our Assyrian friends!

Many more big events to come, spreading the message of freedom in Western Sydney. Stay tuned...
